Olivia is 15 years old and lives in Brisbane with mum, dad and two sisters.
She enjoys school and has a teacher aid to support her in every class. In her free time Olivia loves playing with Lego, watching Netflix, craft and cooking.
Olivia has global developmental delay and receives funding through the NDIS to help her overcome challenges that she faces with mobility, social skills, speech and communication. The funding that Olivia receives through her NDIS plan has enabled her to see specialists and access Support Workers that have worked with Olivia to help her improve skills such as her speech and grow her confidence.
InFocus Support Coordinator Mini has been working with Olivia and her mum Amanda for the past two years. Mini has been working to organise Olivia’s supports, identify the right services and helped her to use her NDIS funds appropriately. Mini has connected Olivia with support workers to enable better community access and inclusion for Olivia.
Olivia’s mum Amanda says “through the NDIS and the help that our InFocus Support Coordinator has provided, Olivia has been able to improve all areas of daily living.”

A “Physio” works with people with disabilities to help them increase their mobility, reduce pain, and improve their physical function. A Physio will assess your needs, strengths and challenges and develop an individualised plan to support you in achieving your goals.

Speech Therapy (also known as Speech Pathology) is a type of therapy that supports people who experience challenges with communication and/or swallowing difficulties. Speech Therapy is provided by a qualified Speech Pathologist, a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or a “Speechie”.
