What is Plan Management anyway?
9 May 2022

At InFocus we are dedicated to helping people with disability get the most out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Based in Brisbane and with vast knowledge of the NDIS, our team has extensive experience in helping NDIS participants whether you are new to the NDIS or if you are an existing NDIS participant.

When it comes to who handles your NDIS budget you have several choices, one of which is Plan Management.

What is Plan Management?

Plan Management is one of four ways you can choose to manage your NDIS budget, the others being self-management, agency-management, or a combination style. Which option you choose determines who handles the financial administration of your NDIS plan.

During your NDIS planning meeting you need to let you planner or LAC know your preferred style. If you’d like to changed the way that your plan is managed you can and you don’t have to wait until your plan review. You can request this changes part-way through a plan.

When you select Plan Management, it means a registered NDIS Plan Management provider such as InFocus will handle you’re the financial administration involved in your NDIS plan.

There are many benefits to using a Plan Manager, such as:

  • Your support invoices are paid for you, correctly and on time
  • Assistance understanding the NDIS process
  • Your billing issues are resolved for you
  • Your budget responsibilities are handled by a professional
  • Your spending is tracked
  • Monthly activity breakdowns and regular budget updates
  • Retain Choice and Control over your funding decisions
  • You can access the support providers you want, whether they’re NDIS registered or not
  • Help building skills you can use if you’re considering Self-Managing your budget later on
  • All of this at no additional expense to you
